HWiNFO is a professional tool that combines the functions of several similar tools. Do you want to monitor the temperature of the processor or video card after overclocking? See the dynamics of the consumption of hardware resources or the activity of the Internet channel? Please. Let's consider what the utility is capable of, what modules it has, what gamers and overclockers value the application for.
Windows does not provide smart tools for viewing details about the hardware components of a laptop and computer. Information is scattered in portions in the Device Manager, Task Manager, System Information. Some utilities are used for monitoring, others for reading technical details about hardware components.
What is the HWiNFO program?
The HWiNFO utility comes with an English interface, there is no official localization into other languages. On the net there are options for translating the program into your native language. On our site you can find just such a version.
The application has won the trust of users for the following functionality:
- Work on server and client operating systems;
- Availability of Portable version;
- Powerful report wizard with the function of selecting the necessary information;
- Five formats for saving reports;
- Monitoring of hundreds of sensors and indicators of the system;
- Remote monitoring of sensors;
- Customizable presentation of information from sensors;
- Comprehensive information about the computer and laptop;
- Pop-up hints with explanation of options, values;
- Customizable notifications about the output of indicators beyond the established limits;
- Expandable functionality through plugins;
- Output of sensor indicators to tray, Logitech keyboard display, desktop gadget;
- Power management after installing the appropriate driver.
- Clearing the GPU cache;
- Building graphs based on real-time sensor readings.
- Saving application settings to a .reg file;
- Launching individual modules;
- Display of information from sensors in 1, 2 or 3 windows;
- Display information from Sensor Status in an overlay or overlay (requires Riva Tuner Statistics Server);
- Regular beta versions;
- Manual addition of new sensors;
- Comprehensive benchmark (only for 32 bits).
Is it worth the money or is it free?
HWiNFO comes in six editions (DOS, a couple of portables, two installers, Pro):
- Installer for Windows 32 and 64 bits: HWiNFO 32 and HWiNFO 64 respectively. Combined installer, selects the desired edition automatically.
- Portable for Windows (x32, x64). Test (beta) versions are available as portable ones. They work without installation, run from a USB flash drive, support movement.
- Solution for older computers running DOS.
The application is free for non-commercial use. Business clients are served individually.

Download HWiNFO on PC for free
Try the portable version of HWiNFO (download below). It doesn't need to be installed. If you prefer the installer, then you need to install. On a Windows computer, the utility is available in Install and Portable versions..
Installation
- Run the executable downloaded from the link below.
- Allow the security system and UAC to execute it.
- In the first window, click "Next".
- Accept the terms of use of HWiNFO.
- Specify the directory in which to deploy the application files.
- The name of the directory with shortcuts in Start is not important, click "Next".
- Start unpacking with the "Install" button.
- Close the installer. It will call HWiNFO unless you clear the first flag.
Interesting. The installer automatically determines the bitness of Microsoft Windows and installs the appropriate edition of the utility.
Modules
Free information and diagnostic utility with system monitor functions. Consists of three main and a couple of secondary modules.
The first are:
- Sensor status - a powerful tool with information from almost a hundred dynamic indicators, information from dozens of sensors. Displays temperatures, voltages, frequencies, the degree of loading of various components of a personal computer, their models: processor, video card, RAM, motherboard, system bus, network card, peripherals, SMART. Double-clicking on an option will change its presentation to graphic.
- System Summery - general information about the computer. Something like synthesis of CPU-Z with GPU-Z (but without information about graphics technologies) + drive summary.
- Main window – analogue of AIDA64 without monitoring. Represented by a device tree. On the left in the branches is the equipment, on the right is a table with information about the selected component.
Secondary instruments:
- Remote Center - allows you to send information from a remote computer to yours.
- CPU-Activity Clock - a tiny window with the clock frequency of the processor cores and the multiplier.
- Create Logfile – a tool for generating reports in TXT, (M-)HTML, XML formats.
- Benchmark - testing the processor, memory and hard or solid state drive. Only available in HWiNFO.
Interestingly, the HWiNFO utility is used by such IT giants as Intel, Dell, AMD, ASUS.
